Record figures not only for exhibitor participation and international involvement but also for turnover volumes all contributed to what has yet again been excellent feedback – on the part of both exhibitors as well as over 71,000 visitors - for the 29th JAGD & HUND. Around 690 exhibitors from 36 countries provided a range which is absolutely unique with regard to both its extent and international content. A public with generous spending power demonstrated its appreciation by purchasing record amounts: 9 out of 10 visitors either bought or ordered goods – on average for a sum of over 550 Euros, producing a total turnover of over 35 million Euros.

Internationality on the increase

The JAGD & HUND continues to gain importance way beyond Germany’s borders. In 2010 33 percent of exhibitors and 14.5 percent of visitors came from abroad. The visit to the Messe Westfalenhallen Dortmund was worthwhile for both sides: 91 percent of exhibitors will be returning to take part in the JAGD & HUND 2011 either definitely or most probably and over 90 percent of visitors will be returning again next year. For the JAGD & HUND was able to fulfill their expectations, offering new products, information and a whole host of shopping opportunities. Over and beyond that the JAGD & HUND presents the most comprehensive selection of hunting and angler fishing holidays throughout Europe, supported each year by a different partner country as part of the Partner Country programme.

Shopping adventure based upon hunting and angling

Hunting accessories, hunting apparel and weapons were the areas which enjoyed greatest public demand. But also the presentation of off-road vehicles proved very popular once again, with the vehicles demonstrating their skills on the spectacular off-road vehicle course in hall 3B. And again the numerous special shows such as the dog parades and birds of prey demonstrations, the hunting event areas and exciting competitions attracted huge crowds. The hub of activity for angler fishing was as ever hall 5 with its extensive range of products and special demonstrations. As angling expert Uli Beyer neatly summed up: “The JAGD & HUND is more than just a sales exhibition, it is a massive source of information. Visitors can come here to meet professional experts with whom they can exchange ideas and gather information for the approaching season“.
